“You’re right,” Sandy said to Rob, coming back to the present.
Rob glanced over at the beautiful, young reporter who had been lost in her own thoughts for the last eight miles. “I’m sure that’s true, but what am I right about this time?”
“About me second guessing myself,” Sandy said. “I know how crazy it is, but I also know my gut is right. The wolf is coming to this festival this weekend.”
“The wolf?” Rob repeated it as a question this time.
But Sandy just nodded and repeated herself again with no more clarification. “The wolf is coming.”
Rob looked back out at the endless highway rolling out in front of them. “And we’re the cavalry riding in to save the day,” he said. A cop and a reporter, former lovers, now the last best hope of the Harvest Youth Festival. Rob Banis sighed and shook his head. “God, I hope you’re wrong.”
